Nature Explorers

At Stillness we have developed a programme called Nature Explorers to provide children with an opportunity to learn more about the world we live in and experience the beauty of nature.

Nature Explorers is a sequence of outdoor learning lessons that has been devised by a number of our team, most notably our Science co-ordinator and Eco lead. There is at least one outdoor, often off-site session for Reception and Year One, each half term.

Each session links to the Early Years Foundation Stage or the National Curriculum Science objectives concerning seasonal changes, plants and animals.

We use our local green spaces such as Ladywell Fields and Blythe Hill to help bring the learning to life. There’s lots of practical, fun opportunities to learn more about the natural world and expand and embed that learning on future trips.

This is our Yearly Overview of the Nature Explorers outdoor learning.
